What Is the Fur Fiasco?

The TFO Fur Fiasco is a one-day predator hunting competition designed for teams who love the hunt—and want to help bring new hunters along for the ride. Teams will hunt together, compete for points, and gather back at the barn for check-in, food, and prizes.

Whether you’re experienced or brand new, this event is about mentorship, sportsmanship, and a great day outdoors.

Event Schedule

Morning Registration & Rules Meeting

6:00–6:20 AM
The TFO Barn

All teams must be present at 6:00 AM sharp.

Evening Check-In & Dinner

7:00 PM
The TFO Barn

Team Requirements

• Team Size: Minimum 3, Maximum 4
• No Entry Fee
• Team must hunt together (no splitting up)
• Team name required at registration
  (No lame names—but keep it family-friendly)
• Each team must include at least one beginner
  (New to predator hunting)

Rules & Regulations

• Any legal hunting method allowed
  No picking up roadkill
• Check regulations — Furharvester license required for some species
• To qualify for full points, teams must bring back at least two species
• Miscellaneous species do not count toward species requirements

Point Deductions

• Single-species entries:
  • –1 point per large species
  • –0.5 point per small species

Scoring System

Point Breakdown

• 2 Points Each – Large Species
  • Coyote
  • Bobcat
  • Fox
• 1 Point Each – Small Species
  • Squirrel
  • Rabbit
  • Raccoon
  • Crow
• 0.5 Point Each – Misc Species
  • Armadillo
• Tie Breaker
  • Total combined weight of all critters brought in
